Lecture Notes

Notes from some physics courses in Pisa, written in LaTeX and public, with the code that produces the figures next to them.

Stack: LaTeX (TikZ, Makefile), Python, Julia, Fortran.

Why

I wrote the notes to reread and reuse them. The Complex Systems ones are a transcription of the lecturer's handouts (academic year 2020/2021): the content is not original; the LaTeX rendering and the code that goes with it are. I published them in case they help other students.

What is inside

  1. 01

    Complex Systems

One LaTeX file per lecture and about 50 figures produced by code: logistic map, Hénon map, Lorenz, standard map, random walks. The code is in Python, with some Julia and a Fortran package. 50 commits between September 2020 and December 2022.

  2. 02

    Nonlinear Dynamics

Notes from the 2020/21 course with exercises, a project and a final seminar with code and text. 30 commits between February and July 2021.

  3. 03

    An index

The LectureNotes repository collects links to the PDFs for Complex Systems, Nonlinear Dynamics and Structure of Matter. I did not reread the content of the last one.

  • What I did

Writing the notes in LaTeX and the code for the figures and experiments.

  • Status

Finished in 2022; the index dates from 2024. Public.
